Because of their complexity and the involvement of many different parties, projects need particularly careful managing. In fact, project management is seen as a particularly demanding role with a very diverse set of skills including technical project management knowledge, interpersonal skills, and leadership ability.  Some of the key skills and attributes of a project manager include:  Acquiring adequate resources.  Acquiring and motivating personnel.  Dealing with obstacles.  Communication.  Negotiation.  Ability to handle stress.  Credibility.  Sensitivity.  Dealing with conflict.  Very often project manager need the ability to motivate staff who not only report into a manager other than themselves, but also divide their time between several different projects.
